About the role

The Data Scientist plays a key role in transforming complex data into meaningful insights that support business growth, product innovation, and customer success. Working within the Data Team, you will develop statistical models, machine learning solutions, and analytical frameworks that help drive strategic decision-making across the organisation.

You will work with large and diverse datasets to identify trends, predict outcomes, and uncover opportunities that create value for both the business and our customers. Collaborating closely with Product, Technology, Commercial, and Operational teams, you will translate complex data into actionable recommendations and deliver solutions that support Creditsafe's continued growth and innovation.

This role is ideal for an analytical and curious individual who enjoys solving complex problems, building predictive models, and using data to influence business outcomes.

 

Chapter 1

Key responsibilities

The role is responsible for applying statistical modelling, machine learning, and advanced analytics to solve business challenges and support data-driven decision-making. Working closely with stakeholders, Data Engineering, and Product teams, the role translates complex data into scalable analytical solutions and clear, actionable insights.

  1. Develop statistical models, machine learning solutions, and predictive models aligned with business objectives

  2. Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, opportunities, and actionable business insights

  3. Design, develop, and maintain analytical tools and scalable data science solutions

  4. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective analytical solutions

  5. Evaluate, monitor, and continuously improve model performance and predictive accuracy

  6. Present analytical findings, insights, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

  7. Produce reports, dashboards, and visualisations that communicate key insights and support decision-making across departments

  8. Work closely with Data Engineering and Product teams to develop and implement robust, scalable solutions

  9. Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency throughout analytical processes

  10. Research emerging techniques and tools and contribute to best practices in data science, governance, and model management

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone with a highly analytical and collaborative approach, with excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality. You’ll be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working with stakeholders across the business, and applying your technical expertise to solve complex problems.

  1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by solid mathematical and statistical knowledge

  2. Experience with statistical analysis and predictive modelling techniques

  3. Good knowledge of machine learning concepts and methodologies

  4. Ability to manipulate, analyse, and interpret large and complex datasets

  5. Experience using data analysis and visualisation tools to generate meaningful insights

  6. Experience working with databases and structured data

  7. Ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

  8. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
