About the role

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Contracts, with additional support from the Director of Customer Operations & People, you will play an important role in supporting the business on a wide range of commercial legal matters, with a primary focus on customer and supplier contracts.

Working closely with stakeholders across the UK business, you will provide practical, commercially focused legal advice that enables business growth while effectively managing legal and regulatory risk.

Key responsibilities

  1. Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, supplier agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), software and technology agreements, and other commercial documentation.

  2. Provide commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders across Sales, Customer Operations, Compliance, Product and Senior Management.

  3. Identify, assess and help mitigate legal and commercial risks arising from contractual arrangements.

  4. Support the business in ensuring compliance with relevant UK legislation and regulatory requirements affecting commercial contracts, data protection and related areas.

  5. Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of contract templates, legal playbooks and internal policies.

  6. Respond promptly to contract-related queries from internal departments and help facilitate efficient contract turnaround.

  7. Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to Creditsafe's products, services and operations, providing practical guidance where appropriate.

  8. Assist with wider legal projects and provide general in-house legal support as required.

What you'll bring

  1. Qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales.

  2. Around 1–2 years’ PQE in commercial law, gained in private practice or in-house.

  3. Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.

  4. A strong understanding of contract law and commercial legal principles.

  5. A pragmatic, commercially focused approach and strong stakeholder management skills.

  6. Ideally, experience in technology, financial services, business information or a data-driven organisation.

  7. Knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection legislation would be an advantage.

  8. Experience supporting commercial teams in a fast-paced business environment would be beneficial.
