Chapter 1

The Challenge

With high-value projects at stake, Scania understands the requirement for quality business checks to be carried out on all its business partners and customers to ensure the overall delivery of its projects.

Scania uses a range of innovative processes and solutions to ensure the values of the business are upheld when acquiring new customers. But in order to achieve its growth ambitions, Scania acknowledged that there were limitations with its existing processes.

Discussing the importance of onboarding new customers and partners, Credit Manager Wendy Janes said:  "We are always looking for the best tools to help our credit team manage the risk of our business as effectively as possible whilst ensuring we do not hinder the sales side of our business. Our previous supplier did provide adequate information but at times, we felt we were lacking “on the pulse” information."

The Solution

Having met with many other credit information providers, Scania felt Creditsafe were the right fit to help improve their current process due to the data accuracy and extensive international coverage, which would assist with onboarding new customers and suppliers wherever they are based in the world. “Creditsafe's global data coverage was a huge pull for us, it has opened new business avenues and ensures that we can investigate customers diligently should they have ties overseas,” explains Wendy.

After the initial consultation and trial of the Creditsafe platform, Scania quickly realised that this was the right solution for their operation and began the seamless switching process with the support of their experienced account management team.

The Results

Since using Creditsafe, the team at Scania have benefited from global coverage and monitoring alerts that push updates out on the status of its customers and suppliers in real-time. One of the key benefits of Creditsafe is the international monitoring alerts that have helped Scania to have complete confidence in the companies they are doing business with.

Wendy added to this saying, “As part of our compliance obligations we have to monitor changes and react accordingly. Creditsafe’s monitoring system helps with this and the best part is, unlike previous providers, the alerts do not all come to me . Each credit controller has their own portfolio and their colleagues can have access at any time to ensure cover during holidays so no alert is missed”.
