A CCJ check reveals whether an individual has struggled to meet financial commitments in the past. Verifying their credit history upfront helps you build trust and make informed decisions before entering an agreement.
Reduce payment risk
Identifying personal CCJs early helps you assess the likelihood of missed or delayed payments. Protect yourself from unnecessary losses by understanding someone’s financial behaviour before extending credit or signing contracts.

With Creditsafe, you can quickly find out if a company has any County Court Judgments (CCJs) registered against it. Our reports pull data directly from official court records and update daily, giving you the most accurate and reliable view of a business’s legal history. Whether you’re assessing a new customer, reviewing a supplier, or keeping track of your own company, a Creditsafe CCJ check helps you spot potential risks early and make more informed decisions.
Creditsafe uses County Court Judgments (CCJs) as a key risk indicator, which can significantly lower a company's credit score and reduce its credit limit. A CCJ remains on a company's report for six years unless paid within 28 days (marked as "set aside").
CCJ Lifecycle on Creditsafe Reports
A CCJ can significantly lower a company’s credit score and signal financial distress. With Creditsafe, you can see how a CCJ impacts a business’s overall creditworthiness, helping you decide whether it is safe to extend credit or trade with them.
Creditsafe sources CCJ data directly from the courts. Every time a County Court Judgment is issued, it’s recorded on the official Register of Judgments, Orders and Fines. Creditsafe pulls this information, so you always have access to the most accurate and up-to-date records available.
Yes. Creditsafe reports show whether a CCJ is active, satisfied, or removed. If the debt is paid in full within one month of the judgment, the CCJ can be removed from the register entirely. If it is paid after that, Creditsafe will mark the CCJ as satisfied, showing the debt has been cleared, though the judgment will still appear for the remainder of the six-year period.
Creditsafe updates CCJ data daily, pulling directly from official court records. This means you can rely on Creditsafe to give you the most current picture of a company’s legal and financial standing at any time.
