Chapter 1

Danish Scorecard Enhancements

Released: December 2025

We have made enhancements to our Danish credit risk scorecard.

Why have these enhancements been made?
Following the COVID crisis, the interpretation of filed financial statements has shifted, particularly for companies that previously received local government support. As such support has diminished, these models must be updated to accurately reflect the financial realities of these types of companies.

Against this backdrop, updates to the existing valuation models appears not only advisable but necessary. This will enable the adequate representation of current risk factors and allow the models to be adapted to the changing conditions.

You will not need to make any changes to access the new scores, the new scores will seamlessly replace the previous scores in your solutions.

How does the new scorecard benefit me?
Greater predictability means that Creditsafe customers can be more efficient in their risk assessment process. Some Danish companies may receive a revised credit score based on key risk factors.

The credit score will be accompanied with an individual Probability of Default (PoD), which is produced for each company. This shows the risk of doing business with a company in the form of percentage likelihood of insolvency over the forthcoming 12 months.

With the addition of FCA data, you can easily confirm whether a firm is authorised to operate in the UK, understand what financial activities it’s permitted to carry out, check its regulatory standing, including any warnings or restrictions, and ensure you’re dealing with a legitimate, regulated business.

Removal of Spanish Sole Trader Data

Released: October 2025

Following recent guidance from the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD), our Spanish data supplier is no longer able to provide Spanish sole trader data unless the individual has provided explicit consent.

As a result, with immediate effect, we have had to reduce some of the Spanish sole trader records we hold within Creditsafe products. This change affects all data providers operating in Spain and is part of a broader update to data protection regulation in the region.

What actions do you need to take?

To remain compliant, we advise that with immediate effect, you look through your searches and identify all non-consenting Spanish sole traders you hold in your records that have been supplied by Creditsafe. These will need to be deleted.

You can identify the records you need to delete by locating those that are labelled as having no ‘legal form’. We have removed all non-consenting Spanish sole traders from our databases. Therefore, all businesses that remain have consented.

Changes to Scorecard in Norway

Released: February 2025

We are pleased to announce the launch of our enhanced Norwegian credit risk scorecard for Norwegian business report users.

Our credit risk scorecards are designed to predict the likelihood of a company becoming insolvent within a 12-month period. With our latest enhancements, we can now predict even more insolvencies, helping you minimise risk when extending credit to Norwegian companies.

In addition to the new scores, we now provide the following features:

• Score commentaries explaining the reason for the score
• Risk percent/Probability of Default (PD) will be calculated for each company

How does the new scorecard benefit your business?

By adjusting the scoring criteria, the enhanced Norwegian scorecard will deliver greater predictability of default over the next 12 months, and therefore deliver greater risk protection for your business. As a consequence of these changes, a proportion of Norwegian companies will receive a revised credit score and credit limit to reflect their renewed risk evaluation.

You can learn more about our Scorecards below.

Chapter 1

Address Changes to Belgian Company Reports

Released: January 2025

There will be two changes introduced to our Belgian data, including the mergers of several municipalities and the transition to the new NACEBEL codes.

1. Municipal mergers: impact on registered office addresses

Throughout the course of Q3 2025, 13 Flemish municipalities will merge. There will be a series of administrative changes to handle situations such as duplicate street names and the renaming of municipalities.  Consequently, many businesses will have address changes, despite the fact that they have not physically moved.

Creditsafe reports will reflect the new address information as they occur throughout January. If you store this information locally, you will be required to refresh your Belgian data to access and store the new address information.

2. NACEBEL-2025: new activity classifications

Additionally, throughout Q2 2025, a new activity code structure will be introduced. This change follows from a European decision and is managed in Belgium by Statbel. Where companies currently still use a seven-digit code from 2008, this will be replaced by a new five-digit code. Statbel - the Belgian Statistical Office - has a conversion table ready to convert the old codes to the new structure.

Chapter 1

Data Cleaning Service - Swedish Krona Change

Released: January 2025

Previously, Swedish Krona values were displayed in Data Cleaning as 1000s of Krona (KSEK) for the following values:

  1. Share Capital
  2. Credit Limit
  3. Turnover
  4. Profit
  5. Pre-Tax Profit
  6. Total Long-Term Liabilities
  7. Shareholder Funds
  8. Working Capital
  9. Total Fixed Assets
  10. Current Assets
  11. Total Current Liabilities
  12. Net Worth

In order to create greater consistency and accuracy, we have now converted these values to SEK so that you are receiving the raw Krona value.  For example, where you previously would have seen a turnover value of 850, the conversion to SEK will deliver a value of 850,000. This will be the same for all of the enriched values listed above.

Please note that if you have any existing calculations or automated processes that will adjust or react to the changes to these data values, they will need to be reviewed and aligned with the new SEK values.

Chapter 1

Ireland Postcode Changes in our Data Cleaning & Monitoring Services

Released: January 2025

Residential and business addresses in Ireland now use a postal code system called Eircodes. This is a unique 7-character code consisting of letters and numbers that provide a precise location of an address and replace the previous postal code system.

As of January 2025, for users of our Data Cleaning and Monitoring services, all addresses for companies based in Ireland will display their designated Eircode in their address instead of the existing postcode. This means that the existing post code format (999929) will be replaced by the new Eircode format (R93 E3W7).

Please note the following:

- Customers who use Monitoring with exports that include companies based in Ireland will have the Eircode in the address instead of the previous postal code.

- Customers who use Data Cleaning will not be able to use the previous postal codes as a match to identify companies in Data Cleaning Matching.

Creditsafe business reports are already using Eircodes, therefore this update will bring greater consistency between our products.

Chapter 1

Enhancements to scores in Finland

Released: January 2025

We are pleased to announce new scorecard enhancements. The new Finnish scores have moved from the previous score range of 0 – 100 to a new score range of 0 – 999. The new score aims to provide greater granularity, therefore giving a stronger indication of risk for each business.

Please be aware that all Finnish businesses will receive a new score on the day of the launch. In order to avoid excessive Monitoring notifications, we will be switching off email notifications for Finnish score changes on the launch day.

If you wish to retrieve the new scores for each business of interest, we recommend exporting the notifications for these businesses via your Monitoring platform.

Important Notice: Historic scores have also changed.

It is also critical to be aware that we will be replacing all historic scores for Finnish businesses with the new score range. Therefore, when viewing historic scores for each business (via your Monitoring dashboard or Event History tab for example), you will be able to view these based on a 0 – 999 range, allowing comparability between previous and current scores.

A detailed summary of the previous and new scorecard can be found in the documentation available on the link below.
